Red Drought

Flower Series

Limited Edition Fine Art Prints

In this series I wanted to juxtapose the beauty found in the environment with the ugliness caused by environmental threats. The destruction of each flower is captured as a single moment in time-- a metaphor for the current state of the global environment. However, each flower has a section that remains untouched, symbolising hope for the future.

Multiple Exposures

Limited Edition Fine Art Prints

I used the in camera, multiple exposure technique to create images that express the essence of the flower rather than showing a traditional representation. Shot with a macro lens, the surface of these images undulates between areas of sharp and soft focus, single and overlapping shapes and pale and intense colour. The anatomy of the flower is broken and replaced with glimpses from different angles. The image is transformed from a single flower to an expression of the sense of the flower as a broader idea.
